More about travel services

Before your trip

In addition to offering immunization for travel, we offer support and consultation so you are well informed about the environment you are visiting and its unique aspects and risks. We carefully evaluate your travel plans, outline potential safety and health concerns, and offer advice on precautions and preventive measures to take while traveling.

We have a specialized pharmacy with expertise in travel medication to provide you with your prescriptions. Also available at the center are travel-related items suggested by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

During your trip

Sometimes you can’t avoid getting sick while traveling. You could suffer an insect bite, develop a food- or water-borne illness, or have an issue with an existing chronic health problem. You may not feel comfortable visiting an overseas doctor, or you might need a second opinion. If you need a doctor, we are available for consultation through Skype or email.

After your trip

If you become ill after your trip, we can provide post-travel health evaluation and treatment. Should you have a concern requiring specialty care, our experts can address every health condition – large or small. UofL Physicians offers expertise in a full range of specialty areas to aid in maintaining your health.
