UofL Physicians is NCQA-certified

Published on October 31, 2014

NCQA sealCongratulations to the UofL Physicians Credentialing Department who received a score of 100 percent for their re-certification from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)! Our certification with NCQA is essential in allowing us to provide the departments with the highest level of service – allowing for Delegated Credentialing with non-governmental payors with whom UofL Physicians is contracted. This means the health plan delegates the credentialing process to UofL Physicians which allows our providers to complete just one application rather than one application for each health plan.

The Certification is valid through 10/13/2016 and is a result of review, including on-site review. During their preparatory work and visit the NCQA certification team reviews:

  • Credentialing policies & procedures
  • Credentials Committee review process
  • Credentialing verification process
  • Recredentialing cycle length
  • Ongoing monitoring of practitioners
  • Notification and Practitioner Appeals process
  • Validation with Delegated Credentialing entities
