UofL Physicians-Radiology uses MRI to obtain high quality images of virtually any structure within the body. There is no radiation exposure from this technique. Advanced MRI applications, including MRA (imaging of blood vessels), MRS (evaluation of tissue composition), DTI (imaging of white matter in the brain) and functional MRI (evaluation of brain activity), are available and can confirm diagnosis in selected cases.

CT (Computed Tomography)

Our advanced CT imaging equipment allows for state-of-the-art image quality, while at the same time addressing concerns about radiation dose and providing optimal patient safety.

General Plain Film Radiology

Traditional X-rays are still a common method to evaluate issues with the chest, abdomen, spine and extremities.

Fluoroscopy

Our radiologists use fluoroscopy to obtain real-time images during functional exams such as swallowing studies and gastrointestinal exams.

Screening Mammography

Screening mammography is provided both in our breast care center as well as on a mobile mammography van.

Diagnostic Breast Imaging

Tailored breast imaging including ultrasound, MRI and interventional techniques such as biopsy are offered by our radiologists.

PET/CT

This powerful tool allows for simultaneous imaging of anatomy and metabolism to accurately locate the site of disease and allow for treatment decisions.

Nuclear Medicine

The radiology team utilizes these techniques to study process in which an understanding of metabolism is needed to locate and characterize disease.

Interventional Radiology

The UofL Physicians-Radiology team specializes in the use of minimally invasive image guided techniques to diagnose and treat a wide variety of diseases. These procedures minimize patient risk and maximize health outcomes.

Cardiac Imaging

UofL Physicians-Radiology uses CT and MRI imaging of the heart to diagnose cardiac conditions and evaluate treatment options.
