Every child needs a doctor to see them through the milestones and hurdles of childhood. Our pediatricians are uniquely prepared to help Louisville families with that journey.
The doctors of UofL Physicians-General Pediatrics are children's advocates, committed to providing excellent care to every child, from birth through 17 years of age.
(This practice formerly operated under the names UofL Pediatrics, University Pediatric Foundation and Children & Youth Project.)
Our pediatricians in Louisville are teachers whose care helps doctors-in-training learn the art and science of medicine. We are researchers and leaders in the world of children’s health care. We are involved with research on obesity, asthma, emergency preparedness, ethics and much more.
And, our Louisville pediatrics practice is part of a network of approximately 180 pediatric specialists from virtually every major area of pediatrics. That means we have easy access to a wealth of expertise, which is important when your child’s acute or chronic disease requires more than a routine visit to the pediatrician.

Pediatricians with University of Louisville Physicians address the full spectrum of diseases and medical conditions for infants, children and adolescents. We understand that pediatric care means more than treating a sick child -- it means providing answers and guidance and building lasting, long-term relationships with parents so they can raise safe, healthy kids. Our Louisville pediatrics physicians will take the time to provide you with the information you need to make treatment decisions and better understand your child's medical condition.
Preventive care is important to us, so we help you keep immunizations up to date and watch for potential problems as your child grows and develops. We treat common childhood illnesses, such as sore throats and ear infections, and will link you with expert resources for more serious problems. Because we specialize in care for kids, we do everything we can to make their experience and yours as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Our 32 general Louisville pediatricians have a variety of healthcare interests and hail from numerous corners of the U.S. and the world. They offer special expertise in adolescent medicine, newborn care, parenting, immigrant healthcare, child abuse, weight management and acute and chronic illness. We have recruited our doctors who truly care about the wellbeing of their patients and their families and as a result our practices offer services not typically found in a general pediatrics office.
Many of our Louisville pediatricians are active on state and national levels in research, advocacy and medical education, working with organizations such as the state and national chapters of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Ambulatory Pediatric Association and the American Association of Medical Colleges.
