Pediatric Kidney Health

Louisville Kidney Pediatrics

UofL Physicians' pediatric kidney health practice is a team of doctors who treat children with kidney diseases. Formerly UofL Pediatrics, our doctors are experts in common reasons to see a nephrologist, or kidney specialist, including:

We also manage complicated care, when dialysis or transplantation is needed. To do that, we include dietitians, social workers and specialized nurses who guide families through the maze of hospital services needed to keep a child’s growth and lifestyle normal in spite of problems with their kidneys, one of most challenging organs.

We encourage prenatal visits for expectant mothers if the baby’s ultrasound makes the doctor suspect kidney defects.

Kidney Diseases

We offer diagnosis and treatment of chronic and temporary kidney diseases and infections.

  • We also provide management of:
    • Hemodialysis
    • Peritoneal dialysis
    • Kidney transplantation

Physicians in this practice may not see patients at all locations listed below. For details, please call the appointment line for the location you are interested in visiting.

Our three nephrologists are experienced.  They have practiced General Pediatrics, as well as Pediatric Nephrology.  They understand the ways to coordinate care with hospitals and insurers, having served as Chairmen of Nephrology, and as directors of various clinics and hospitals.  They are also energetic, with recent nephrology training, and plans to establish Kentucky’s first pediatric dialysis unit, a key component of a first-rate kidney transplant program.
