Pediatric Infectious Diseases

UofL Pediatrics-Infectious Diseases provides inpatient and outpatient consultation and management services for children with unusual, complicated, or recurrent infections. Outpatient office hours are held daily at the clinical office address; all visits are by appointment only and referral by a primary care physician is required. Urgent outpatient consultation outside of office hours can be arranged at the request of the referring physician.

UofL Physicians-Pediatric Infectious Diseases, formerly UofL Pediatrics, holds a special clinic twice a month for children with primary immunodeficiencies, in collaboration with clinical and laboratory immunology faculty. Children with HIV infection are seen during general clinic hours. Follow-up is provided for patients seen in the hospital. Management of home intravenous antibiotic therapy is available if necessary.
