Pediatric Hospital Medicine

UofL Physicians Pediatric Hospitalists are physicians who practice pediatric medicine in hospitals. Pediatric Hospitalists make life easier for parents, providing the best care for children in many distinct areas of pediatric work. Most can be found in the following areas of the hospital:

Hospitalists programs can help prevent medical complications, lower health care costs, and even reduce hospital stays. The Pediatric Hospitalist will keep in contact with your child’s regular pediatrician as well as other physicians that are involved in their care during their stay at the hospital in a way that is comfortable and reassuring for both you and your child. When your child is discharged from the hospital, a Pediatric Hospitalist will give the family’s pediatrician an overview of your child’s stay, including instructions for any follow-up or long-term care as determined by the hospital doctors.

If your pediatrician suggests that your child receive care from a pediatric hospitalist, you should feel confident that your child will receive the same high-quality care they receive from their pediatrician while in the hospital.
