JOB SUMMARY
This position will perform front-line implementation, support, and training for the Allscripts Enterprise Electronic Health Record software in University of Louisville Physicians clinics. This position will support specific locations, departments, and/or specialties, with attending and/or resident physicians, and will be responsible for the technical setup of the application to meet specific end user requirements. The Clinical Systems Analyst will work closely with physicians, resident physicians, nurse managers, and clinic staff to maximize the efficient and effective use of Enterprise EHR as it relates to patient care, user satisfaction, and clinical productivity.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Implement, support, and train clinical and non-clinical users on the Allscripts Enterprise Electronic Health Record system.
· Responsible for testing and troubleshooting the Allscripts Enterprise EHR to ensure compliance with best practices.
· Attain and maintain knowledge about clinic practices, procedures, workflows, including providing focused training on applicable Enterprise EHR modules where appropriate to enhance end user abilities and capabilities with the system.
· Work with ULP clinic administration to establish best practices for modifying and improving Enterprise EHR, including workflow process improvement and end user development. Works with assigned clinical areas daily to identify areas for system build and workflow improvements that can be quickly and accurately identified, prioritized, and implemented.
· Develop and maintain tools, tips, and tricks that provide optimal user efficiency and proficiency, with particular emphasis on development of items that assist physicians in documentation and ordering within Enterprise EHR. Audit and review new tools and processes that have been implemented.
· Observe and assess user skills, coach individuals and provide individual training to enhance user proficiency. Available to physician and staff for quick answers to questions.
· Provide observations and recommendations to clinic management regarding strategies to improve user satisfaction and increase efficiencies.
· Works as liaison to Systems and Operations IT group.
· Work on-site daily at assigned clinics, as directed by Project Manager.
· Periodically assess workflows, user proficiency and system tools.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· BA/BS in Computer Science or related field with 3-5 years of progressive experience in an ambulatory clinic setting; AA/AS in Computer Science or related field with 5-7 years of progressive experience in an ambulatory clinic setting.
· Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis.
· Previous experience in an ambulatory setting is strongly preferred.
· Clinic management or experience in workflow design/redesign, electronic medical record systems (Allscripts Enterprise EHR), paper medical records systems, and/or computer analyst experience strongly desired.
· Certifications/Licenses: None.
