JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for performing a variety of duties in the medical practice. May be involved in both clinical and administrative areas, including assisting physicians with patient care, front desk, environmental and organizational tasks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Obtain and record vitals.

·       Update medication lists.

·       Maintains clean exam rooms.

·       Assist physicians with examination when necessary.

·       Administers treatment per physician order.

·       Gives injections per physician order, B12, PPD and flu vaccine.

·       Obtain medical history and triage patient.

·       Reports any abnormal results to physician immediately (i.e. labs, etc.).

·       Check the EMR (Electronic Medical Records) task list daily and complete. Check physicians box for urgent messages and contact physician.

·       Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

·       Adheres to organizational policy and procedure.

·       Responsible for processing and filling all prescriptions through AllScript.

·       Respond and return all patient calls and messages promptly.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

·       Medical Assistant Degree required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

·       EMR, AllScript and Centricity knowledge preferred.

·       Excellent customer service skills required.

·       Professional demeanor and appearance a must.

·       Knowledge of Microsoft Office and telephone protocol. Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills.

·       Punctuality and excellent attendance required.
